Kristau Eskola, is an association that represents 142 official state schools in the Basque Country and has developed the TABC programme (Teaching Assistant in the Basque Country) designed to enhance and improve the aural communication skills of its students, aged from 3 to 17, by means of foreign teaching assistants.
The main objective of the TABC programme is for the teaching assistants to act as "cultural ambassadors of their countries" and share experiences with our students. This will be a motivating and exciting challenge for all and will result in natural communication to flow in the classroom.
Requirements for qualifying to become a teaching assistant
1- To be a foreign university student registered in any of the Basque Universities.
2- Have a native or near native command of English. (Common European framework of reference for languages- C1)
1- Facilitate speaking practice of the English language.
2- Provide a solid model for grammatical and phonological accuracy.
3- Work with the teachers at the school on materials development to be used in class.
4- Bring the students closer to the culture and way of life of your country.
The teaching work will be carried out within an agreed timetable regarding dates and hours and under the supervision of a teacher or tutor.
Model 1: three hours a week (37,50 euros per week)
Model 2: six hours a week (75 euros per week)
Model 3: 12 hours a week (150 euros per week)
