Important aspects to keep in mind

Distribution of centres / faculties in 3 academic Campus located in different cities.

Our university has three academic campuses, placed in three different cities:

  • Campus of Álava: in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
  • Campus of Bizkaia: the centres are divided into two areas, Bilbao and Leioa.  To move from one place to another is necessary the use the public transport, that´s why it is really difficult to study subjects from several centres of Bilbao and Leioa at the same time.
  • Campus of Gipuzkoa: in Donostia-San Sebastián.

There is a lot of distance between the different campuses, in case the students choose subjects from several centres, these centres must be located on the same campus.

Some important issues before selecting subjects.

The UPV/EHU does not require a minimum amount of credits to attend to the visiting students, but we do recommend to attend at least 3 subjects per semester so that academically it is worth the stay.

We recommend students, before selecting the subjects, keeping the following in mind:

  • Our academic year may be different than yours. Please check the dates.
  • It is recommended to study subjects from a single centre (except Engineering or Economics and Business in Bilbao). It will be allowed to take 1 or 2 subjects from another centre, as long as they are located in the same geographical area and most subjects to be attended belong to the centre where they will be admitted.
  • Each semester are offered different subjects, so it is important that the student verifies that the chosen subjects are taught in the semester in which he visits us.
  • It will not be allowed to the students that make a stay of a semester (only in few exceptions), study full year subjects.

Department of Medicine and Dentistry.

Particularities to be considered in the Department of Medicine and Dentistry

Faculty of Medicine and Nursing (Medicine and Dentistry) will only receive applications from universities that have a bilateral exchange agreement with them.

No matter the period of stay of the students here (1st or 2nd semester of the academic year 2017/2018), applications should be sent within the 1st deadline (before the 5th May 2017).

This centre has a high level of saturation, therefore we can not guarantee a place for all students interested in making a stay in this centre. This is why applications will be accepted preferably for the 1st semester (September 2017 to January of 2018).

Important: The access to clinical internships of the 6th course of Medicine will only be allowed in the 1st semester (September to December 2017).
