Procedure for Authentication of Own Degrees and Academic Certificates

Once the Own Degree has finalised, the degree will be handed over on request and following payment of the corresponding fees. There is also the possibility of having it authenticated.

You may also request authentication of the academic certification.

The steps you need to follow are shown below. The documents to be presented must always be original. When the documentation is presented by a third party, said party must provide authorisation from the document owner (a notary-witnessed power of attorney that is valid in Spain).

First of all, the process to authenticate the degree or academic certification requires a request to be sent to the Secretariat General of the UPV/EHU, at the e-mail address shown below, for issue of the document which must be attached to the Own Degree or the Academic Certification to be authenticated.
