I got my PhD in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, in 2006. I worked first as an assistant professor and later as an associate professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) between 2006 and 2012. In 2012 I arrived at the University of the Basque Country thanks to the Ikerbasque Foundation, as an Ikerbasque Research Professor.
I work on behavioral economics, experimental economics, behavioral game theory and gender economics. I have two main research lines. First, in behavioral game thoery I study individual behavior in strategic environments. Second, I study gender differences in education and labor markets. In my research, which is mostly empirical, I use administrative data but also carry out laboratory and field experiments to gather appropriate data.
My work has been published in journals like American Economic Review, Econometrica, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of the European Economic Association and Economic Journal.
