Full Professor of Economics at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) since 2009. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (1992) and a B.A. in Economics from the University of the Basque Country (1984).
He has published more than forty scientific articles in prestiguos journals such as International Economic Review, European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Economic Inquiry, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Journal of Macroeconomics, European Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, among others. His research and teaching focus on Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics and its interplay with Financial Economics. Currently, he has 5 sexenios of research granted by the CNEAI (the last one corresponds to the period 2015-2020) and he has received positive teaching and research evaluations in all levels (C1, C2, B1, B2, B3, A1 y A2) from the Agency for Quality of the Basque University System (UNIBASQ). He has hold Visiting Professor positions at Warwick University, University of California at San Diego and Kansas State University.
