PhD in Physics and Computer Science at the UPV/EHU in 1990. Stay at CNET Lanion (France) in 1988. Invited researcher at Polytechnic University of Valencia in 1991 and 1992. Board member of the Spanish Association of Forms Recognition and Image Analysis of 1995 to 2008. Visiting Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, PA (USA) in 2012 and 2013. Ministry grant- in the Fulbright program - and visiting Professor at the University of California (USA) in 2018. She has held academic management positions and she is regular evaluator of research and teaching staff at local, national and European level. He has organized two summer schools and numerous international conferences.
She founded the Pattern Recognition and Speech Technologies research group in 1990, Speech Interactive now, which she has led since then. She has published numerous articles in leading international journals and conferences (more than 150), also in nationals, and has published three research books. She has participated in four European projects and led numerous competitive national projects as well as research contracts with national and international companies.
As Full Professor of Computer Sciences, she currently supervises three PhD students, as well as Master and Grade theses, performs scientific consulting work for technology centers and companies, coordinates the European project H2020 EMPATHIC, participates in the action H2020 MSCA MENHIR, she is regular evaluator of the EU, among other activities.
