Telecommunications Engineer from the UPC (1987) and PhD from the UPV / EHU (1995), she is Professor of Signal Theory and Communications and director of the research group Aholab Signal Processing Laboratory (agent of the Basque Science and Technology Innovation Network, member of HiTZ Basque Language Processing Center). He has been responsible for the doctorate program of the department during the years 1996 to 2002 uninterruptedly, and in the period 2007-2009 responsible for the master's degree in Information and Communication Technologies in Mobile Networks TICRM. He is currently a member of the Academic Committee of the TICRM Doctoral Program of the Department of Communications Engineering. He teaches in 2 Master's programs (one of them international Erasmus +) in addition to the Degree in Telecommunication Technologies.
Her lines of research include techniques of synthesis, conversion and transformation of the voice, the application of speech technologies (recognition, verification, assessment of pronunciation) in the teaching of second languages, as well as the development of strategies that allow the use of speech technologies by people with disabilities. He has more than 50 national and international publications in prestigious journals and conferences, 2 books, and has participated in more than 50 research projects, most of them as principal investigator.
