PhD Fellowship in Chemistry

A PhD Fellowship in Chemistry is available in the Catalysis and Sustainable Group (https://haritzsardonlab.com/) at the Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering, POLYMAT Fundazioa (www.polymat.eu), in collaboration with ORIBAY Group Automotive (https://oribay.com). The focus of the PhD is on the development of methods for on-demand on/off adhesion by using covalent adaptable networks. The goal is to design materials with strong adhesion and at the same time on demand tackiness.
Applicants must have a BSc and MSc in Chemistry with a strong background in Organic Chemistry, and previous experience in polymerization.
Good command of written and spoken English is a must (if preselected, a telephone interview will be carried out before any other appointment is made). The selected candidate is expected to conduct research, write papers, and deliver a PhD thesis.
Applications should be addressed to Prof. Haritz Sardon and sent via email in one single PDF to haritz.sardon@ehu.es until the 30th of June, 2022 (inclusive). Applications must contain the title of the position on the email subject and include:
(i) a cover letter highlighting their interest in the position.
(ii) curriculum vitae.
(iii) a short description of previous research (1-2 Pages).
(iv) the names and contact addresses (e-mail) of two academic referees.
Applications will be considered upon arrival. Please note that, because of the large number of applications expected, we will not be able to give individual feedback to unsuccessful applications.
POLYMAT has obtained the ‘HR Excellence in Research award‘. The award reflects our commitment to continuously improve our human resource policies in line with the European Charter for Researchers, the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers and our commitment to achieve fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures.
