PhD in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country / EHU in 1984, since 1995 he is Professor of Chemical Engineering. He currently teaches in the Degree of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and the Master of Chemical Engineering. He participates and supervises Final Degree Projects, Final Master Projects and Doctoral Thesis.

He participates in different research projects within the group of Chemical Technologies for Environmental Sustainability, related to the elimination of gaseous pollutants through catalytic processes. He has published more than 150 publications; most of them indexed in Scopus AU-ID: 6603777702 (ORCID: 0000-0002-0024-5003), mainly in high impact journals. He also participates in projects and / or contracts with the industry or administrations.
