Biography
Efraím Reyes (Galdakao - Bizkaia, Spain) earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2001 and completed his Ph.D. in 2006 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. D. Badia and Prof. José L. Vicario. Throughout his career, he has performed several research stays: During his doctoral studies, he completed a short stay at Stockholm University (Sweden), which contributed to his recognition as an “International Doctor”; He subsequently carried out postdoctoral research from 2007 to 2008 at the Center for Catalysis at Aarhus University (Denmark), under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. K. A. Jørgensen; More recently, in 2022, he joined the Georg August University of Göttingen (Germany) as a Visiting Professor in the group of Prof. Lutz Ackermann, where he focused on developing new electrocatalytic C–H functionalization strategies under metal catalysis.
Efraím Reyes joined the Asymmetric Synthesis Research Group at UPV/EHU, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor (since 2012). His research interests focus on asymmetric catalysis, with particular emphasis on the development of innovative methodologies for enantioselective transformations.
