Biography

Mikel Gaztelumendi earned his BS in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in 1981. He obtained his PhD in the same university in 1994. In November of 1981 started as Assistant Professor at the University of the Basque Country.

Research

Dr. Gaztelumendi develops his research activity in the field of the processing-structure-properties relationship of thermoplastic materials, specifically in the field of polymer blends, including reactive processing, filled and reinforced polymers. He has experience in several polymer processing techniques (blending, extrusion, injection moulding, …), and also in the physical (DSC, DMTA, SEM, ...) and mechanical (tensile, flexure, impact testing, ...) characterization of these materials.
