Main research interests
My PhD research analyses the operation of disability, gender and sexual stereotypes in judgements from the European Court of Human Rights. I am interested in the construction of identities by powerful actors and how this shapes socio-legal and human rights discourses and the lived experiences of individuals.
If you had the opportunity to work on a research project on democracy, what would it be about?
I have a background in law and gender politics, and experience in conducting research on minority rights, political participation, exclusion and erasure. I am particularly interested in identity construction in socio-legal discourses including gender, disability and sexual identities.
