River ecosystem metabolism, carbon fluxes and ecosystem functioning in river networks; time-series modelling.

Research interests

I am a PhD student within the ODUM project, studying the drivers of river ecosystem metabolism and its contribution to riverine CO₂ emissions. I combine hierarchical state-space modelling of long-term, high-frequency oxygen data with artificial-stream experiments, field campaigns and the development of low-cost CO₂ sensors, to understand how light and flooding disturbance control metabolism, how it has changed over recent decades, and how it couples with carbon fluxes.
