Area of expertise

Macroinvertebrates with complex life cycles, aquatic-terrestrial linkages, global environmental change, taxonomic and trait diversity.

Research interests

In my PhD project "Distinctive responses of freshwater macroinvertebrates with complex life cycles to global environmental change" I explore how anthropogenic stressors affect the aerial stages of macroinvertebrates and how these changes influence nutrient and energy transfer across aquatic-terrestrial boundaries. I am particularly interested in understanding how anthropogenic pressures and habitat restoration shape the biogeography, taxonomic diversity, and functional traits of freshwater communities through time. Overall, by combining fieldwork with temporal and biogeographical analyses, I aim to generate knowledge that supports the management, conservation, and restoration of freshwater ecosystems.
