4.7 Factory

On 15 December took place at the University of Deusto, Bilbao, the launch of Factoría 4.7 - Platform for knowledge management in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and the presentation of the Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) in ESD Basque Country-Navarre.

In collaboration with the Basque Agency for Development Cooperation, UN Etxea - Basque Country Association for UNESCO, has developed Factoría 4.7 - Plataforma Iberoamericana de Educación para el Desarrollo Sostenible as a project that seeks to transform ESD in Latin America from innovation and shared learning, facilitating that the agents linked to education take ESD as an inspirational axis of their policies, plans and educational practices.

As part of this project, UN Etxea has also promoted the creation of a Regional Centre for Education for Sustainable Development (RCE) in the Basque Country, recognised by the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (UNU-IAS).

The RCE Basque Country-Navarre is a network of more than 40 organisations related to formal, non-formal and informal education that, from the Basque Country, aim to collaborate to facilitate learning towards sustainable development as part of the UNESCO Global Action Programme #EDSfor2030.

Among these 40 entities, the UNESCO Chair in World Indigenous Languages will also contribute to this network. Therefore, the contents related to education that we generate within the Chair, we upload them to the Factory 4.7 website so that they are available to everyone.
