The UNESCO Chair of World Linguistic Heritage of the UPV/EHU (The University of the Basque Country) has supported this initiative in the framework of the International Decade of the Indigenous Languages. The aim is to emphasize the place that indigenous and minority languages have in the development of the 2030 Agenda.

Last Friday, 15th September, the new academic year 2023-2024 in Vocational Training began at the Easo Politeknikoa Integrated Vocational Training Centre in Donostia. The event was attended, among others, by the President of the Basque Government, Iñigo Urkullu, and the Regional Minister of Education, Jokin Bildarratz. During the inauguration ceremony, the President made special mention of the 17+1 goal, which aims to guarantee the language and culture heritage.
