Jone Muñoz Ugartemendia studied Materials Engineering at the School of Engineering of Bilbao (2008) at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). She obtained the Master of Advanced Materials in 2009. In 2013 she joined to the UPV-EHU as a non-doctor assistant professor. Today, she is an adjunct professor in the department of mining-metallurgy and materials science, where she is the coordinator of the subject Fundamentals of Materials Science.
She has published 4 innovative teaching articles and has taken part in several congresses on education and technology. She has published an OCW and has collaborated elaborating teaching material with the company ANSYS / GRANTA.
She obtained the international PhD in 2014 with the thesis entitled In search of tough polylactides for tissue regeneration: Poy (L-lactide-co-epsilon-caprolactone) and its blends with poly (L-lactide), which received the mention Cum Laude. Since then he is a member of the ZIBIO research group.
Now a days,she co-supervise 3 PhD.She worked on several research projects, and published 9 scientific articles and took part in 15 international congresses. His lresearch line focuses on biodegradable polyesters for medical applications.
