Bachelor of Chemical Sciences, Macromolecular Chemistry-Physics specialty (1991) and PhD (1996) by the UPV-EHU. Lecturer of Polymer Engineering at Lea-Artibai College (MCC) from 1997 to 2002. Lecturer at the School of Engineering of Bilbao (EIB) of the UPV/EHU since 2003, occupying a full professor position in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science since 2019. In the EIB teaches the grade course Fundamentals of Materials Science and the Master's Degree courses Obtaining and Manufacturing Materials and CAE Design and Simulation of Materials Manufacturing Processes.
Collaborator researcher in the ZIBIO Research group, recognized as group A in the Basque University System. Co-director of 4 doctoral theses, three of them with international mention. He has participated in 35 funded research projects, being Principal Investigator in three of them. Co-author of 49 scientific papers published in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports database, 39 of them in the first quartile. Co-author of 5 book chapters, and of around 40 contributions in national and international conferences. Granted by CNEAI with four periods of six years of research. He has worked on the following research lines: biodegradable polymers, polymer miscibility, infrared spectroscopy of polymers.
