Chemical Engineer (2006) and PhD in Environmental Engineering (2011) with special award by UPV/EHU, both qualifications obtained in the Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao. He is associate professor at the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department of such engineering school (starting in 2010) in the Environmental Engineering field of knowledge. The teaching quality evaluation system of the UPV/EHU (DOCENTIAZ) has awarded it an Excellent rating and has a student rating greater than or equal to 4.0 out of 5 in 90% of the courses it has taught. He is a member of the research group Sustainable Process Engineering -SuPrEn- (A group of the basque university system) and his research is focused on the production of secondary raw materials and/or fuels from industrial and municipal waste. In this field he has directed an international doctoral thesis with special award and is currently directing two others. He is co-author of 23 scientific articles and 60 congress communications. He has 2 sexennia of research recognized by UNIBASQ. Throughout these years he has participated in 7 publicly funded research projects and 5 research contracts with companies.
