Description

The objective of this group is the creation of a multicenter and multidisciplinary study network to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of complex diseases. We intend to thoroughly study the genetic and epigenetic characteristics of these diseases, in order to define markers to:

1. Recognize groups of individuals with a higher risk, which should be better controlled.

2. Make more accurate diagnoses, allowing better treatment.

3. Better monitor the evolution of the disease, to predict relapse.

4. Personalize treatment according to the genetic characteristics of the tumor and / or the individual, which means a more effective and safe treatment.

5. Design new diagnostic strategies.

Research lines

  1. Genetics and epigenetics in pediatric cancer and their implication in the evolution, diagnosis and response to treatment
  2. Next generation sequencing in the prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment of lymphomas
  3. Genetic and epigenetic disorders implicated in fertility disorders

Equipment

  • Molecular Biology Laboratory
