CV summary

Klara Smith holds a BA (2010) and PhD (2015) in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country. She started her career in the department of Basic Psychological Processes and their Development with a collaboration grant between 2009 and 2010 and a pre-doctoral grant awarded by the Basque Government between 2012 and 2015, defending her doctoral thesis in September 2015: "Separation and parental conflict: effects on the affective relationships of young adult children". During this process she completed a pre-doctoral stay as a visiting research scholar at the "Department of Human Development and Family Studies'' (Auburn University, USA) between February and May 2014, under the supervision of Francesca Adler-Baeder. Her research interests focus on attachment theory and the effects of family events such as divorce and conflicts in couple relationships on the affective and social development of children. In addition, from 2014 to the present she teaches courses in Spanish, English, and Basque both in the area of Developmental and Educational Psychology in the department of Basic Psychological Processes and their Development (September 2014-January 2017 and October 2018-currently) and in the department of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatments (January 2017-September 2018). Since January 2021 she coordinates the area of Developmental and Educational Psychology in the department of Psychological Processes and their Development.
