The specific competences of the subject are:



1. Capacity of spatial vision.

2. Knowledge on graphical representation techniques by traditional methods of metric geometry and descriptive geometry.

3. Knowledge on graphical representation techniques by Computer Aided Design software.



The transversal competences, common to other subjects, which are developed in this subject are:



1. Adopt a responsible attitude, organized at work and ready to the learning environment necessary for a continuous formation.

2. Apply the self strategies of the scientific methodology: analyze the problem qualitatively and quantitatively, contemplate hypothesis and solutions using the proper models.

3. Work in groups effectively, integrating abilities and knowledge for decision making in the field of industrial engineering.



As a consequence, the following learning results are expected to be achieved:



- Know, understand and apply a foundation of knowledge about the fundamentals and standardization of technical drawing in industrial engineering, promoting simultaneously the capacity for spatial vision.

- Develop strategies and procedures for the graphical problem solving, useful to deal with engineering projects.

- Use the graphical communication among technicians when making and interpreting standardized drawings corresponding to the technical drawing in industrial engineering.

- Work in teams developing the knowledge with a critical and responsible technical/cultural exchange.

- Promote a positive attitude towards the learning process, showing proactive, participative and with spirit of achievement when facing the difficulties in training.

BLOCK 1: DESCRIPTIVE GEOMETRY. DIHEDRAL SYSTEM-DIRECT VIEW METHOD.



Lesson 1: Representation systems. Classification. Basics and Techniques.

Lesson 2: Point, straight and plane alphabet.

Lesson 3: Representation of objects I: normalized views, perspectives.

Lesson 4: Descriptive methods for problem solving. Plane changes, rotations and abatements.

Lesson 5: Intersections.

Lesson 6: Parallelism, perpendiculars and distances.

Lesson 7: Angles.



BLOCK 2: TECHNICAL DRAWING.



Lesson 1: Standardization: antecedents, classification of rules. Rules of industrial drawing.

Lesson 2: Representation of objects II: Normalized views. Perspectives.

Lesson 3: Cuttings and sections.

Lesson 4: Dimensioning. Basics. Dimensioning methods. Disposition and inscription of dimensions.

Lesson 5: Permanent and temporary joints.

Lesson 6: Surface finishes. Dimensional tolerances and fittings. Geometric tolerances.

Lesson 7: Assembly and detail drawings.



BLOCK 3: COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN.



Lesson 1: Introduction to Solid Edge software.

Lesson 2: Part environment.

Lesson 3: Draft environment.

Lesson 4: Assembly environment.

In this course different teaching methodologies are used, being the most common the problem solving methodology. This way the autonomous job of each student will be promoted by different works carried out individually or in teams.



The different types of tasks, both in face-to-face classes and at home, that will be carried out during the course are the following:



1. Problem solving, involving the application of the acquired knowledge.

2. Use of computer applications. Solid Edge software.

3. Use of the web platform EGELA:



All the tasks carried out by students will be tracked in order to facilitate and assure the effective learning of the student body. This would allow students to know their level of learning and to have a feedback and improvement route, according to a previously stablished criterions of evaluation.

CONTINUOUS EVALUATION



1st partial. Evaluation percentages:



- Practices, individual and team works: 30%

- Exam: 70%



2nd partial. Evaluation percentages:



- Practices, individual and team works: 30%

- Exam: 70%



In the final exam corresponding to the 2nd partial, those students who have not passed the 1st partial will have the opportunity to take also the exam corresponding to the 1st partial.



FINAL EVALUATION



The student body will have the right to be evaluated according to the final evaluation system, no matter if they have taken part in the continuous evaluation. For that purpose, each student will have to present a resignation letter to the teacher within 18 weeks from the beginning of the course according to the academic calendar of the center.



The evaluation will be carried out by a final exam with an evaluation percentage of 100%.
