- Generate strategies for a project.

- Control of the different scales of work.

- Collective housing typologies.

- The relationship between shape and construction.

- The value of emptiness in urban development.

MethodologyToggle Navigation

In the subject of Architectural Design VI: Residential Area III, the teaching is structured on the basis of different exercises:

Exercises will be carried out on collective housing or residential buildings, taking into account their immediate surroundings and considering the contribution of materiality in the definition of form. Individual work will predominate in these exercises.

It is also worth mentioning that the digital fabrication laboratory is used in the development of the exercises.

Assessment systemsToggle Navigation

SISTEMA DE EVALUACIÓN CONTINUA

In order to pass by means of continuous assessment, the student must present all the exercises or phases of work on their due date. In the case of not fulfilling all the deliveries in its content and stipulated dates, the student will take a specific final test to complete the continuous assessment.

CONTROL DE ASISTENCIA

In order to have a continuous assessment, 85% of the classes must be attended. Students who do not meet this condition will take a specific final test to complete the continuous assessment.

Non-attendance in class must be justified and the excuse that it coincides with another subject will not be valid. In this case, the lecturer will assess what complementary homework the student will have to do.

Students are also reminded that class attendance will be considered as attendance when the student remains in class for the entire timetable assigned to the subject and is carrying out class work.

It is essential to understand and accept that architectural design subjects require an attitude on the part of the student that guarantees regular follow-up and therefore their presence in the workshop and in the classroom. At the beginning of the course, students make a commitment to themselves, but also to their colleagues in the working team of which they form part and to the subject group in general. Any personal issue that may compromise the regular monitoring of the course must be brought to the attention of the group of lecturers of the subject at the beginning of the first four-month period and until the end of September at the latest.

The exercises and assignments will be handed in according to the requested formats (digital and/or paper) on time and on date.

The final Mark results from the consideration of the partial marks of the different exercises according to the following percentages.

Continuous assessment considers attendance (85%), follow-up, participation, and initiative.

SISTEMA DE EVALUACIÓN FINAL/RENUNCIA A EVALUACIÓN CONTINUA

The student may opt for a final assessment to replace continuous assessment, for which the following requirements must be met:

1. Communicate in writing their resignation to the continuous assessment before the 9th week inclusive, counting from the beginning of the term according to the academic calendar of the centre. This waiver must be submitted in writing to the lecturer responsible for the subject.

2. Deliver the exercises proposed during the course before the exam test, which will be accompanied by an oral explanation by the student in front of the assigned lecturer(s).

3. Take an examination test in the classroom assigned by the centre. This test is classroom-based, so the student must take it at the centre.

Compulsory materialsToggle Navigation

The materials to be used are largely determined by the characteristics of the intervention site and consist of plans of different scales and contents (land registry, topographic, etc.), urban planning sheets, photographs, surveys.
Some of them are provided at the beginning of the course, or they constitute the initial work and are elaborated by the students during the field practice or in the classroom. References are also provided according to the subject matter.
