The Vocational Training students, FP, who have carried out internships in the General Research Services, SGIker, of the UPV/EHU, have shown the activities carried out in the Laboratories in a ceremony held on Monday, May 23, in the auditorium of the Center for Animal Biotechnology María Goyri (Scientific Park of the UPV/EHU).

The event, which was attended by the director of the SGIker, Itziar Alkorta, invited the teaching staff of the Training Centers involved with the aim of evaluating their fit with what was learned in the curricular content. On this occasion Laura Casas, a student from the Red Cross training center, and Unai Alonso, from the Calasanz Santurtzi center, explained their projects as a result of their experience in the Genomics units (tutored by SGIker technicians Fernando Rendo, Irati Miguel and Natalaia Miguens) and Microscopy of the SGIker (tutored by Ricardo Andrade).

This activity culminates the three months of the module "Training in Work Centers" (FCT) that they have to take in the last stage of their studies to pass the training cycle. The internships are part of a collaboration agreement between the Vocational Training centers and the SGIker. This collaboration agreement began more than fifteen years ago at the initiative of the SGIker Coordinator, Iñaki Echeverria and, in this period, the SGIker have welcomed more than thirty students, with a high degree of satisfaction for all the parties involved. .
