Eider Larrazabal Astigarraga is assistant lecturer in Labour and Social Security Law at the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, where she obtained her PhD in 2012 with a thesis about the incorporation of clauses on people’s labour integration at risk of social exclusion in public sector contracts, a line of research that she has not abandoned since then.

Her research training was completed, under the auspices of a contract for the specialisation of doctoral research staff at the UPV/EHU, with a postdoctoral research stay at the COMPTRASEC (Centre de Droit Comparé du Travail et de la Sécurité Sociale) of the University of Bordeaux (France) in 2014. Her scientific output is prolific, encompassing -in addition to her main line of research- the fundamental rights of workers and, in particular, their right to digital disconnection. She has also participated in the drafting of several technical reports for different entities as well as in different research projects in competitive calls related to transnational labour law and international mobility of workers.
