Gjon's experience:

My exchange semester in Bilbao, from September until now, has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life. From the first days of getting oriented in a new city to settling into a real routine, I’ve grown in ways I didn’t expect; academically, culturally, and personally.

Studying here pushed me to be more independent and adaptable. I learned to navigate new expectations in class, collaborate with people from different backgrounds, and communicate more confidently, even when it meant stepping outside my comfort zone. The international environment made every group project, conversation, and shared coffee break feel like a small lesson in perspective.

Outside of university, Bilbao became my classroom too. I fell in love with the rhythm of the city; its mix of tradition and modern life, its welcoming atmosphere, and the everyday moments that slowly started to feel like home. Weekend trips, local food, walks and jogs along the river, and discovering hidden corners of the city made the experience richer than I could have planned.

Most of all, this semester has given me friendships I’ll keep for a long time and a clearer sense of who I am and what I’m capable of. Bilbao didn’t just host my exchange; it shaped it. I’m leaving with gratitude, confidence, and memories I’ll carry far beyond this semester.
