About her
Ana Larrabeiti holds a degree in biology from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). During her academic training, she expanded her experience at Canterbury Christ Church University (United Kingdom), where she deepened her knowledge in the fields of genetics and pharmacology. Her interest in neuroscience and oncology led her to collaborate with the pediatric oncology group at the Biocruces Bizkaia Health Research Institute, where she worked on the genetic analysis of childhood medulloblastoma using NGS sequencing and evaluated its clinical impact.
After completing a master's degree in molecular biology and biomedicine at the UPV/EHU, she carried out her master's thesis (TFM) at the department of neurosciences and the Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience. There, she optimized techniques for protein analysis and studied the effects of binge drinking during adolescence on the endocannabinoid system and neuroinflammation.
In 2024, she began her stage as a predoctoral researcher in the department of pharmacology at the UPV/EHU, where she currently investigates the involvement of the monoaminergic system in the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
