Associate Professor

Ingeniera Industrial por la Escuela de Ingeniería de Bilbao (UPV/EHU) en 2005, después de estancia de 6 meses en 2004 en el departamento de compresores del Trent 900 (motor del avión A380) en la empresa aeronáutica Rolls-Royce en Derby, Inglaterra. Doctora en Ingeniería Mecánica por la UPV/EHU. Es profesora del Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica de la UPV/EHU a dedicación completa desde 2006 hasta la actualidad.

Sus líneas de investigación se centran en: el estudio del desgaste ondulatorio o corrugación que aparece en los carriles ferroviarios; con simulaciones por Elementos Finitos; la interacción entre rueda y carril ferroviarios con el objetivo de reducir las vibraciones y el ruido.

Además de contar con un sexenio de investigación, es coautora, entre otros, de 6 artículos científicos JCR, 5 capítulos de libro y 24 contribuciones a Congresos. Su grupo de trabajo recibió el premio al mejor trabajo de investigación aplicada en el XIX Congreso Nacional de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2012; el “Premio Mastia a Artículo publicado en la Revista Técnica Industrial” y el “Premio Fundación Técnica Industrial en la categoría A: Mejores Artículos Técnicos”, ambos en 2024. Ha participado en más de 18 Proyectos de Investigación, 5 de ellos Europeos. Asimismo, es colaboradora en 19 contratos con empresas.

 

Holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and a MSc from the Bilbao School of Engineering (UPV/EHU) in 2005, after spending six months in 2004 in the Trent 900 compressor department (A380 aircraft engine) at the Rolls-Royce aeronautical company in Derby, England. PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the UPV/EHU. She is a full-time Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the UPV/EHU since 2006.

Her lines of research focus on: the study of corrugation or undulatory wear that appears on railway tracks, using Finite Element simulations; the interaction between wheels and railway tracks with the aim of reducing vibrations and noise.

She has a positive research evaluation; she is co-author, among others, of 6 JCR Scientific Articles, 5 book chapters, and 24 conference contributions. Her working team received the prize for the best applied research at the 19th National Congress of Mechanical Engineering in 2012 (Spain); the Mastia Prize for an article published in the “Revista Técnica Industrial” and the Prize “Premio Fundación Técnica Industrial” in category A: Best Technical Articles, both in 2024. She has participated in more than 18 Research Projects, 5 of them European. She also collaborates in 19 contracts with companies.
