Izaskun Garrido has been Vice Director for Research and International Relations at the public University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV) in Spain since 2009-2017, member of the Constituent Board of the Plasma Group of the Royal Spanish Physical Society, Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), Member of the CEA (Comité Español de Automática), Member of the Institute of Processes Research and Development, and Member of the Automatic Control Group at the UPV/EHU. Besides, she has participated in over 30 research projects from Competitive calls at regional, national and international level, some of them as Principal Investigator and mostly in an international and interdisciplinary environment whose team has been composed of researches form reknown institutions such as ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, France), LLNL (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory , USA) and CIEMAT.
