I am a passionate and experienced Health research manager with a scientific background in Life and Health Sciences and a proven record of accomplishment in proposal development and EU funding strategy. My transition from a biomedical researcher to a strategic research and innovation manager allowed me to realise that my main strengths and motivations lie in working close with researchers to support interdisciplinary research and maximizing its impact. My career path combines three key dimensions: (1) competitive research, demonstrated through 24 peer- reviewed publications, >1000 citations, and a h-index of 14; (2) funding and project management expertise, with direct involvement in over 300 National and European proposals and hands-on experience in writing impact, communication, dissemination and exploitation, open science, IP management and cascade funding schemes and (3) innovation and stakeholder engagement, and create synergies among funded projects ensuring that all relevant stakeholders, specially society, are engaged. I hold a PhD from the Biomedicine and Experimental Biology PhD Programme, from the University of Coimbra in Cell Biology (2014), and a Master’s in Cell Biology as well.  Since 2020 I’m pursuing a career in Research (and innovation) Management combining knowledge in Health sciences and a comprehensive perspective on Health research management, from pre-award activities (scouting opportunities, building consortia, and proposal design) to post-award processes (contractual formalisation, project coordination, and stakeholder communication). Currently, at F6S Innovation, as a EU Proposal Developer, I apply my skills to a pan-European context, bridging different funding programmes, EU policies, and innovation strategies, aiming to increase institutional competitiveness and societal impact. Through my work, I continuously promote synergy across disciplines, sectors, and geographies.
