Short biography
Isabel JALÓN-ROJAS has been a CNRS researcher since 2020. She holds a PhD in Environmental Physics, with postdoctoral experience in Australia. Renowned for expertise in estuarine and coastal physics, she has authored 35 peer-reviewed (Q1) international papers and 8 book chapters (cited 1065 times, h-index:18; i10-index:23). Leading projects such as ANR JCJC PLASTINEST, EC2CO PLASTICBEACH, and NEXT-COAST, she has made significant contributions to estuarine hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics, and microplastic transport. At the EPOC laboratory, she coordinates the METHYS team’s "Estuaries" research axis, serves as the scientific coordinator of the Physical Instrumentation Platform, and is a member of the Laboratory Management Council. She has supervised 4 PhD theses, 7 Master (M2) theses, and 6 Master (M1) internships, and hosted 3 international PhD students. Her international recognition includes associate editing of the Springer journal "Estuaries and Coasts", chairing sessions at the EGU conference, delivering invited talks, and visiting multiple international research institutions.
