Short biography
Irene Maltagliati (M.Sc.) works in the Research & Impact Department at the University of Groningen as. She is coordinator of the 'School for Science and Society' Rudolf Agricola School for Sustainable Development, which aims to stimulate inter- and transdisciplinary research in the field of sustainability. She is also a doctoral candidate in health and environmental communication, investigating the topic of microplastic. Within this topic, Maltagliati is involved in the ZonMW project Microplastics and Citizen, along with Geiger, Melgert and Graça. Her role includes integrating different disciplines, coordinating the valorization panel of societal stakeholders and organizing outreach activities.
List of selected ongoing projects
2023-2025 ZONMW Microplastics and Citizens grant. This project aims to better understand what psychological factors drive people to engage in MNP protective behaviors and to develop innovative behavioral interventions to promote MNP protective behaviors.
