Jon SÁENZ

(H-index: 13; UPV/EHU Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Physics II; Researcher in the Eolo group). During his research, he has worked in the analysis & forecast of renewable energies, the development of new methods for climate model verification, downscaling of climate data, analysis of climate variability & its impact on fisheries, atmosphere-ocean coupling of energy & momentum & development of scientific software. Currently, his main research topic is the use of atmospheric numerical models with high resolution over the Iberian Peninsula coupled with data assimilation techniques. Dr. Jon Sáenz started collaboration with PiE-UPV/EHU in 2012. He has made research visits to UCLA, Los Angeles (1999), GKSS Forschungszentrum, Geesthacht (2001 & 2005) & NCAR, Boulder (2016). Jon Sáenz has been IP of three projects in the National Research & Development Plan since 2002, & has also leaded projects with regional funding. He has advised or co-advised seven PhD Thesis & is currently advising two PhD thesis. He has published 38 papers in ISI WOS & has made over 60 contributions to national or international Workshops & Congresses.
