The Doctoral programme in Feminist and Gender Studies is designed for students to prepare their doctoral theses in history and social and legal sciences (anthropology, political and administrative science, audio-visual communication, law, economics, journalism and sociology). It is aimed at people who have completed post-graduate training in gender studies, but social and professional feminist experience will also be taken into account.

It comes under the Area of Feminist, Gender and/or Women's Studies, a consolidated scientific field on a local, national and international level. Research activity in this field at the UPV/EHU is rich, extensive and diverse (research contracts and projects, pre-doctoral contracts, doctoral theses and publications, as well as specific undergraduate and post-graduate subjects, courses, seminars and scientific events).
