I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 1995. I was visiting Harvard University in 1996 (3 months) and the University of Chicago in 1999 (3 months.)

The articles of my thesis were published in journals such as International Journal of Industrial Organization and Economics Letters and I got the Award

I have analyzed the different patent licensing mechanisms observed in practice in different contexts. It is shown that contrary to the widely extended assumption in the theoretical literature the patent holder may prefer to use ad valorem royalties instead of per-unit royalties. The articles have been published in journals such as Journal of Economics & Management Strategy and Economics Letters.

Other relevant research line in which I have been working during the last years focuses on cooperative and non-cooperative Game Theory. We analyze the relationship among some solution concepts of cooperative game theory and non-cooperative game theory. We have shown the coincidence between the set of Nash Equilibrium strategy profiles for every finite non-cooperative game in normal form and the supercore of its associated abstract system. The articles in this line of reserch have been published in journals as Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Mathematical Economics and Economics Letters. I got an Award in the Program of Recognition to Excellence in Economics Research (Consolidating Economics) in the edition 2008.
