PhD in Sociology from the UPV/EHU, she is also a Social Worker and Social Educator. She received the "Micaela Portilla" Award from the University of the Basque Country for the best feminist/gender thesis in 2012 with the research "Relaciones amorosas de las mujeres encarceladas" (published in 2015 by the UPV/EHU Publishing House). She also received the 2nd runner-up prize of the IX "Fermín Caballero" Award For Short Essay In Social Sciences with the work "Emociones y desigualdades sociales. El caso del miedo" organized by the Asociación de Sociología de Castilla-La Mancha (2010).

She has participated in various research on penal system and gender, such as "Experience of police detention to women in the CAE" (Emakunde Grant 2016/17) and "Cárceles bolleras. Resistances of women behind bars" (El Porvenir de la Revuelta. Memoria y Deseo LGTBI, 2017). She is currently participating in the research I+D+I Claves Ius-Filosoficas Para El Analisis De La Jurisprudencia Sobre Agresiones Y Abusos Sexuales where she analyzes the legal argumentation in sentences on sexual assaults in the Spanish State.

Participant in numerous state and international congresses and forums, including the PhD Workshop of the ESA-European Sociological Association (2011) where she was selected to present her doctoral thesis research, and more recently in the Symposium Critical University, Critical Dissidence: Pedagogies of Art and Violence in the Americas at the University of New York with the paper "Beyond C
