Aingeru Genaut Arratibel (Madrid, 1974) is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He has taught the subjects of Communication Policies, Opinion Genres, Journalistic Design, and Informative Business in the Journalism Degree, as well as Cultural Journalism in the University Master's Degree in Social Communication of the UPV/EHU. He currently teaches the subjects of Infographics and visual journalism, and Journalism Technology, as well as the subjects of Digital Publishing and Graphic Design in the Multimedia Master UPV/EHU-EITB. Graduated in Journalism from the University of Navarra, in 2012 he received his cum laude doctorate from the UPV/EHU with the thesis entitled "The professionalization of the electronic journalist: analysis of the teaching offer in journalism degrees in Spain", for which he had a predoctoral scholarship awarded by the Basque Government. He has published more than a dozen scientific articles in magazines such as El Profesional de la Información, Revista Latina de Comunicación Social, Estudios del Mensaje Periodístico, Análisi or Zer. He is currently directing three doctoral theses, and his main line of research is focused on new technologies and digital journalism, especially in the analysis and use of tools for design, infographics and visual journalism.
