They drove to the wind turbine every day. Jean-Pierre took charge of carrying up her food, a battery-powered radio, an old illustrated Larousse dictionary, and an old Encyclopedia Universalis that he'd ordered on Amazon but which he had to bring back down because there wasn't enough space for it in the room. Christian, meanwhile, preferred to wait in the car so as not to disturb the young woman's privacy, and also to avoid the risk that he would once again fall victim to his urges.
