And when the men of Israel turned back, the men of Benjamin panicked, for they saw that disaster had come upon them.

Therefore they turned [their backs] before the men of Israel in the direction of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them, and whoever [came] out of the cities they destroyed in their midst.

Then they turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon; and they cut down five thousand of them on the highways. Then they pursued them relentlessly up to Gidom, and killed two thousand of them.

And the men of Israel turned back against the children of Benjamin, and struck them down with the edge of the sword -- from [every] city, men and beasts, all who were found. They also set fire to all the cities they came to.

And they said, "What one [is there] from the tribes of Israel who did not come up to Mizpah to the LORD?" And, in fact, no one had come to the camp from Jabesh Gilead to the assembly.

So the congregation sent out there twelve thousand of their most valiant men, and commanded them, saying, "Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead with the edge of the sword, including the women and children.

So they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead four hundred young virgins who had not known a man intimately; and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.

Then the elders of the congregation said, "What shall we do for wives for those who remain, since the women of Benjamin have been destroyed?"

"

And the children of Benjamin did so; they took enough wives for their number from those who danced, whom they caught. Then they went and returned to their inheritance, and they rebuilt the cities and dwelt in them.

Aquel hombre se llamaba Elimelec, y su mujer Noem?; los nombres de sus hijos eran Mahl?n y Queli?n, efrateos de Bel?n de Jud?. Llegaron, pues, a los campos de Moab, y se quedaron all?.

Le nom de cet homme ?tait ?lim?lec, celui de sa femme Naomi, et ses deux fils s'appelaient Machlon et Kiljon; ils ?taient ?phratiens, de Bethl?hem de Juda. Arriv?s au pays de Moab, ils y fix?rent leur demeure.

The name of the man [was] Elimelech, the name of his wife [was] Naomi, and the names of his two sons [were] Mahlon and Chilion -- Ephrathites of Bethlehem, Judah. And they went to the country of Moab and remained there.

Then Elimelech, Naomi's husband, died; and she was left, and her two sons.

los cuales se casaron con mujeres moabitas; una se llamaba Orfa y la otra Rut. Y habitaron all? unos diez a?os.

Ils prirent des femmes Moabites, dont l'une se nommait Orpa, et l'autre Ruth, et ils habit?rent l? environ dix ans.

Now they took wives of the women of Moab: the name of the one [was] Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth. And they dwelt there about ten years.

hil ziren Mahlon eta Kilion ere. Noemi, ez senar ez seme, bakarrik gelditu zen.

Murieron tambi?n los dos, Mahl?n y Queli?n, quedando as? la mujer desamparada, sin sus dos hijos y sin su marido.

Machlon et Kiljon moururent aussi tous les deux, et Naomi resta priv?e de ses deux fils et de son mari.

Then both Mahlon and Chilion also died; so the woman survived her two sons and her husband.

Gerora, Moab lurraldean zegoelarik, entzun zuen Noemik Jauna bere herriari aldeko agertu zitzaiola uzta ugaria emanez.

Entonces se puso en marcha con sus nueras, y regres? de los campos de Moab, porque oy? en el campo de Moab que Jehov? hab?a visitado a su pueblo para darle pan.

Puis elle se leva, elle et ses belles-filles, afin de quitter le pays de Moab, car elle apprit au pays de Moab que l'?ternel avait visit? son peuple et lui avait donn? du pain.

Then she arose with her daughters-in-law that she might return from the country of Moab, for she had heard in the country of Moab that the LORD had visited His people by giving them bread.

Elle sortit du lieu qu'elle habitait, accompagn?e de ses deux belles-filles, et elle se mit en route pour retourner dans le pays de Juda.

Therefore she went out from the place where she was, and her two daughters-in-law with her; and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah.

Baina, bidean, honela mintzatu zitzaien Noemi: -Tira, itzul zaitezte zeuen etxera, nor bere amarenera. On bekizue Jauna, zuek niretzat eta hildakoentzat on izan zareten bezala.

Y Noem? dijo a sus dos nueras: -- Andad, volveos cada una a la casa de su madre. Que Jehov? tenga de vosotras misericordia, como la hab?is tenido vosotras con los que murieron y conmigo.

Naomi dit alors ? ses deux belles-filles: Allez, retournez chacune ? la maison de sa m?re ! Que l'?ternel use de bont? envers vous, comme vous l'avez fait envers ceux qui sont morts et envers moi!

And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, "Go, return each to her mother's house. The LORD deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me.

Que l'?ternel vous fasse trouver ? chacune du repos dans la maison d'un mari ! Et elle les baisa. Elles ?lev?rent la voix, et pleur?rent;

"The LORD grant that you may find rest, each in the house of her husband." Then she kissed them, and they lifted up their voices and wept.

eta esan: -Ez! Zurekin joan nahi dugu zure herrira.

le dijeron: -- Ciertamente nosotras iremos contigo a tu pueblo.

et elles lui dirent: Non, nous irons avec toi vers ton peuple.

And they said to her, "Surely we will return with you to your people."

Noemik erantzun zien: -Itzul zaitezte, ene kuttunok. Zergatik nahi duzue nirekin etorri? Honezkero izan ote dezaket nik beste semerik zuei senartzat emateko?

Noem? insisti?: -- Regresad, hijas m?as; ?para qu? vendr?ais conmigo? ?Acaso tengo yo m?s hijos en el vientre que puedan ser vuestros maridos?

Naomi, dit: Retournez, mes filles ! Pourquoi viendriez -vous avec moi? Ai-je encore dans mon sein des fils qui puissent devenir vos maris ?

But Naomi said, "Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? [Are] there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

Itzul zaitezte, enetxook, zaharregia bainaiz ni berriro ezkontzeko; baina oraindik itxaropena izan eta, gaur gauean haurdun gelditurik, semerik izango banu ere,

Regresad, hijas m?as, marchaos, porque ya soy demasiado vieja para tener marido. Y aunque dijera: "Todav?a tengo esperanzas", y esta misma noche estuviera con alg?n marido, y aun diera a luz hijos,

Retournez, mes filles, allez ! Je suis trop vieille pour me remarier. Et quand je dirais: J'ai de l'esp?rance; quand cette nuit m?me je serais avec un mari, et que j'enfanterais des fils,

"Turn back, my daughters, go -- for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, [if] I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons,

haiek gizondu zain egon behar ote zenukete? Besteren batekin ezkontzeari uko egingo al zeniokete? Ez, ene kuttunok, horrelakorik ez. Aurka jarri zait Jauna, eta zuei gertatuak nahigabeturik nauka.

?los esperar?ais vosotras hasta que fueran grandes? ?Os quedar?as sin casar por amor a ellos? No, hijas m?as; mayor amargura tengo yo que vosotras, pues la mano de Jehov? se ha levantado contra m?.

attendriez -vous pour cela qu'ils eussent grandi, refuseriez -vous pour cela de vous marier ? Non, mes filles ! car ? cause de vous je suis dans une grande affliction de ce que la main de l'?ternel s'est ?tendue contre moi.

"would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me!"

Haiek berriz ere negarrari eman zioten garrasika. Orduan, Orpak bere amaginarreba besarkatu zuen, eta bere herrira itzuli zen. Rut, ordea, amaginarrebarekin gelditu zen.

Alzaron ellas otra vez su voz y lloraron; Orfa bes? a su suegra, pero Rut se qued? con ella.

Et elles ?lev?rent la voix, et pleur?rent encore. Orpa baisa sa belle-m?re, mais Ruth s'attacha ? elle.

Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.
