Je dis aux grands, aux magistrats, et au reste du peuple: L'ouvrage est consid?rable et ?tendu, et nous sommes dispers?s sur la muraille, ?loign?s les uns des autres.

Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, "The work [is] great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall.

Beraz, turuta-hotsa entzuteaz batera, edonon zaudetela ere, bil zaitezte guregana. Gure Jainkoa borrokatuko da gure alde".

En el lugar donde oig?is el sonido de la trompeta, reun?os all? con nosotros; nuestro Dios pelear? por nosotros.

Au son de la trompette, rassemblez -vous aupr?s de nous, vers le lieu d'o? vous l'entendrez; notre Dieu combattra pour nous.

"Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us."

Honela jarraitu genuen lanean egunsentitik izarrak agertu arte, jendearen erdiak lantza eskuan zuela.

As? pues, mientras trabaj?bamos en la obra desde la subida del alba hasta que sal?an las estrellas, la mitad de ellos montaba guardia con la lanza en la mano.

C'est ainsi que nous poursuivions l'ouvrage, la moiti? d'entre nous la lance ? la main depuis le lever de l'aurore jusqu'? l'apparition des ?toiles.

So we labored in the work, and half of [the men] held the spears from daybreak until the stars appeared.

Agindu hau ere eman nien: "Guztiek, beren laguntzaileekin, Jerusalemen igaroko dute gaua. Horrela, gauez guarda egingo dugu eta egunez lanari ekingo".

Tambi?n dije entonces al pueblo: -- Cada uno con su criado permanezca dentro de Jerusal?n; de noche sirvan de centinelas y de d?a trabajen en la obra.

Dans ce m?me temps, je dis encore au peuple: Que chacun passe la nuit dans J?rusalem avec son serviteur; faisons la garde pendant la nuit, et travaillons pendant le jour.

At the same time I also said to the people, "Let each man and his servant stay at night in Jerusalem, that they may be our guard by night and a working party by day."

Nik neuk eta nire senide laguntzaile eta guardakoek ere erantzi gabe egiten genuen lo, armak eskura genituela.

Y ni yo ni mis hermanos, ni mis j?venes ni la gente de guardia que me segu?a, nos quitamos nuestro vestido; cada uno se desnudaba solamente para ba?arse.

Et nous ne quittions point nos v?tements, ni moi, ni mes fr?res, ni mes serviteurs, ni les hommes de garde qui me suivaient; chacun n'avait que ses armes et de l'eau.

So neither I, my brethren, my servants, nor the men of the guard who followed me took off our clothes, [except] that everyone took them off for washing.

Egun batez, herriko seme eta emakumeak deiadarka hasi ziren beren senide juduen kontra.

And there was a great outcry of the people and their wives against their Jewish brethren.

Hab?a quien dec?a: "Nosotros, nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas, somos muchos; por tanto, hemos pedido prestado grano para comer y vivir".

Les uns disaient: Nous, nos fils et nos filles, nous sommes nombreux; qu'on nous donne du bl?, afin que nous mangions et que nous vivions.

For there were those who said, "We, our sons, and our daughters [are] many; therefore let us get grain, that we may eat and live."

Beste batzuek, berriz: "Gure landa, mahasti eta etxeak bahituran jarri beharra izan dugu, gosete honetan garia izateko".

Y hab?a quienes dec?an: "Hemos empe?ado nuestras tierras, nuestras vi?as y nuestras casas, para comprar grano, a causa del hambre".

D'autres disaient: Nous engageons nos champs, nos vignes, et nos maisons, pour avoir du bl? pendant la famine.

There were also [some] who said, "We have mortgaged our lands and vineyards and houses, that we might buy grain because of the famine."

Beste batzuek: "Gure landa eta mahastien gain dirua eskatu beharrean gertatu gara, erregeari zergak ordaintzeko.

Otros dec?an: "Hemos tomado prestado dinero sobre nuestras tierras y vi?as para el tributo del rey.

D'autres disaient: Nous avons emprunt? de l'argent sur nos champs et nos vignes pour le tribut du roi.

There were also those who said, "We have borrowed money for the king's tax [on] our lands and vineyards.

Denok arraza berekoak gara! Gure seme-alabak badira besteenak adina! Hala ere, gure seme-alabak esklabo saldu beharrean gertatzen gara, eta gure seme-alabetako batzuk dagoeneko esklabo bilakatu dira. Baina ezin dugu ezer egin, gure landak eta mahastiak besteren eskuetan baitaude".

Ahora bien, nosotros y nuestros hermanos somos de una misma carne, y nuestros hijos son como sus hijos; sin embargo, nosotros tuvimos que entregar nuestros hijos y nuestras hijas a servidumbre, y algunas de nuestras hijas son ya esclavas, y no podemos rescatarlas porque nuestras tierras y nuestras vi?as son de otros".

Et pourtant notre chair est comme la chair de nos fr?res, nos enfants sont comme leurs enfants; et voici, nous soumettons ? la servitude nos fils et nos filles, et plusieurs de nos filles y sont d?j? r?duites; nous sommes sans force, et nos champs et nos vignes sont ? d'autres.

"Yet now our flesh [is] as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children; and indeed we are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and [some] of our daughters have been brought into slavery. [It is] not in our power [to redeem them,] for other men have our lands and vineyards."

And I became very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.

Despu?s de meditarlo bien, reprend? a los nobles y a los oficiales. Y les dije: -- ?Exig?s inter?s a vuestros hermanos? Adem?s, convoqu? contra ellos una gran asamblea,

Je r?solus de faire des r?primandes aux grands et aux magistrats, et je leur dis: Quoi! vous pr?tez ? int?r?t ? vos fr?res ! Et je rassemblai autour d'eux une grande foule,

After serious thought, I rebuked the nobles and rulers, and said to them, "Each of you is exacting usury from his brother." So I called a great assembly against them.

Honela salatu nituen: "Geure ahalegin guztiaz berriro erosi ditugu atzerritarrei salduak zeuden geure senide juduak. Orain, zeuok ari zarete senideak saltzen, gu berriro erosi beharrean gerta gaitezen". Isilik geratu ziren, txintik ere atera gabe.

y les dije: -- Nosotros, seg?n nuestras posibilidades, rescatamos a nuestros hermanos jud?os que hab?an sido vendidos a las naciones; ?y ahora sois vosotros los que vend?is aun a vuestros hermanos, para que nosotros tengamos que rescatarlos de nuevo? Y callaron, pues no tuvieron qu? responder.

et je leur dis: Nous avons rachet? selon notre pouvoir nos fr?res les Juifs vendus aux nations; et vous vendriez vous-m?mes vos fr?res, et c'est ? nous qu'ils seraient vendus ! Ils se turent, ne trouvant rien ? r?pondre.

And I said to them, "According to our ability we have redeemed our Jewish brethren who were sold to the nations. Now indeed, will you even sell your brethren? Or should they be sold to us?" Then they were silenced and found nothing [to say.]
