-- Cuando asist?is a las hebreas en sus partos, observad el sexo: si es hijo, matadlo; si es hija, dejadla vivir.

Il leur dit: Quand vous accoucherez les femmes des H?breux et que vous les verrez sur les si?ges, si c'est un gar?on, faites-le mourir; si c'est une fille, laissez-la vivre.

and he said, "When you do the duties of a midwife for the Hebrew women, and see [them] on the birthstools, if it [is] a son, then you shall kill him; but if it [is] a daughter, then she shall live."

Baina emaginek Jainkoari begirune izan eta ez zuten erregeak agindua bete, baizik eta mutikoak ere bizirik uzten zituzten.

Pero las parteras temieron a Dios y no hicieron como les mand? el rey de Egipto, sino que preservaron la vida a los ni?os.

Mais les sages-femmes craignirent Dieu, et ne firent point ce que leur avait dit le roi d'?gypte; elles laiss?rent vivre les enfants.

But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the male children alive.

Orduan, erregeak deitu eta esan zien: -Zer dela-eta uzten dituzue mutikoak bizirik?

Entonces el rey de Egipto hizo llamar a las parteras, y les dijo: -- ?Por qu? hab?is hecho esto? ?Por que hab?is preservado la vida a los ni?os?

Le roi d'?gypte appela les sages-femmes, et leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous agi ainsi, et avez-vous laiss? vivre les enfants ?

So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, "Why have you done this thing, and saved the male children alive?"

Emaginek erantzun zioten: -Hebertar emakumeak ez dira egiptoarrak bezalakoak; oso dira azkarrak eta, emagina joan orduko, izana dute haurra.

Las parteras respondieron al fara?n: -- Porque las mujeres hebreas no son como las egipcias; son robustas y dan a luz antes que llegue la partera.

Les sages-femmes r?pondirent ? Pharaon: C'est que les femmes des H?breux ne sont pas comme les ?gyptiennes; elles sont vigoureuses et elles accouchent avant l'arriv?e de la sage-femme.

And the midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women [are] not like the Egyptian women; for they [are] lively and give birth before the midwives come to them."

Jainkoak lagundu egin zien emaginei beren lanean: herria ugaldu egin zen eta biziki indartu.

Dios favoreci? a las parteras; el pueblo se multiplic? y se fortaleci? mucho.

Dieu fit du bien aux sages-femmes; et le peuple multiplia et devint tr?s nombreux.

Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied and grew very mighty.
