" The rest [shall belong] to the prince, on one side and on the other of the holy district and of the city's property, next to the twenty-five thousand [cubits] of the [holy] district as far as the eastern border, and westward next to the twenty-five thousand as far as the western border, adjacent to the [tribal] portions; [it shall belong] to the prince. It shall be the holy district, and the sanctuary of the temple [shall be] in the center.

"Moreover, apart from the possession of the Levites and the possession of the city [which are] in the midst of what [belongs] to the prince, [the area] between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin shall belong to the prince.

"All the way around [shall be] eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from [that] day [shall be:] THE LORD [Is] THERE."

young men in whom [there was] no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who [had] ability to serve in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.

And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king's delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of [that time] they might serve before the king.

To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel [the name] Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, "I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who [are] your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king."

As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

And in all matters of wisdom [and] understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians [and] astrologers who [were] in all his realm.

Les Chald?ens r?pondirent au roi en langue aram?enne: O roi, vis ?ternellement ! dis le songe ? tes serviteurs, et nous en donnerons l'explication.

Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in Aramaic, "O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation."

Erregeak esan zien: -Erabaki hau hartu dut: ametsa eta beronen esanahia argitzen eta azaltzen ez badizkidazue, txiki-txiki egingo zaituztet eta zuen etxeak zabortegi bihurtuko.

Respondi? el rey y dijo a los caldeos: -- El asunto lo olvid?; pero si no me dec?s el sue?o y su interpretaci?n, ser?is hechos pedazos y vuestras casas ser?n convertidas en estercoleros.

Le roi reprit la parole et dit aux Chald?ens: La chose m 'a ?chapp?; si vous ne me faites conna?tre le songe et son explication, vous serez mis en pi?ces, et vos maisons seront r?duites en un tas d'immondices.

The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, "My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap.

Argitzen eta azaltzen badizkidazue, ordea, emaitzez, erregaloz eta ohorez beteko zaituztet. Azaldu, beraz, ametsa eta beronen esanahia.

Mais si vous me dites le songe et son explication, vous recevrez de moi des dons et des pr?sents, et de grands honneurs. C'est pourquoi dites -moi le songe et son explication.

"However, if you tell the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore tell me the dream and its interpretation."

Aztiek berriro ere erregeari: -Errege jauna, kontaguzu zer amets egin duzun eta azalduko dizugu esanahia.

Respondieron por segunda vez, y dijeron: -- Cuente el rey el sue?o a sus siervos, y le daremos la interpretaci?n.

Ils r?pondirent pour la seconde fois: Que le roi dise le songe ? ses serviteurs, et nous en donnerons l'explication.

They answered again and said, "Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will give its interpretation."

Baina erregeak: -Badakit luzatu nahirik zabiltzatela, nire erabakien berri badakizuelako.

El rey respondi? y dijo: -- Yo conozco ciertamente que vosotros pon?is dilaciones, porque veis que el asunto se me ha ido.

Le roi reprit la parole et dit: Je m'aper?ois, en v?rit?, que vous voulez gagner du temps, parce que vous voyez que la chose m'a ?chapp?.

The king answered and said, "I know for certain that you would gain time, because you see that my decision is firm:

Ametsa argitzen ez badidazue, zori bera izango duzue guztiok. Bat etorri zarete niri hitz zuri eta gezurrezkoak esateko, egoera aldatu zain. Esadazue berehala zein izan den ametsa. Horrela jakingo dut ametsaren esanahia ere azaltzeko gai zareten ala ez.

Si no me cont?is el sue?o, una sola sentencia hay para vosotros. Ciertamente prepar?is una respuesta mentirosa y perversa que decir delante de m?, entre tanto que pasa el tiempo. Contadme, pues, el sue?o, para que yo sepa que me pod?is dar su interpretaci?n.

Si donc vous ne me faites pas conna?tre le songe, la m?me sentence vous enveloppera tous; vous voulez vous pr?parer ? me dire des mensonges et des fausset?s, en attendant que les temps soient chang?s. C'est pourquoi dites -moi le songe, et je saurai si vous ?tes capables de m'en donner l'explication.

"if you do not make known the dream to me, [there is only] one decree for you! For you have agreed to speak lying and corrupt words before me till the time has changed. Therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that you can give me its interpretation."

Aztiek erantzun zioten: -Errege jauna, ez dago munduan gizonik eskatzen duzuna egin dezakeenik. Inongo erregek, handiena eta ahaltsuena izanik ere, ez dio inoiz antzeko gauzarik eskatu igarle edo azti bati.

Los caldeos respondieron delante del rey y dijeron: -- No hay hombre sobre la tierra que pueda declarar el asunto del rey. Adem?s, ning?n rey, pr?ncipe ni se?or pregunt? cosa semejante a ning?n mago ni astr?logo ni caldeo.

Les Chald?ens r?pondirent au roi: Il n'est personne sur la terre qui puisse dire ce que demande le roi; aussi jamais roi, quelque grand et puissant qu'il ait ?t?, n'a exig? une pareille chose d'aucun magicien, astrologue ou Chald?en.

The Chaldeans answered the king, and said, "There is not a man on earth who can tell the king's matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has [ever] asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean.

Gehiegizkoa da eskatzen duzuna: ezin dizu inork erantzunik eman, jainkoek izan ezik; baina jainkoak ez dira gizonen artean bizi.

Porque el asunto que el rey demanda es dif?cil, y no hay quien lo pueda declarar al rey, salvo los dioses cuya morada no est? entre los hombres.

Ce que le roi demande est difficile; il n'y a personne qui puisse le dire au roi, except? les dieux, dont la demeure n'est pas parmi les hommes.

"[It is] a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh."

Orduan, erregea haserre gorritan jarri zen, eta Babiloniako jakitun guztiak hiltzeko agindu zuen.

Por esto el rey, con ira y con gran enojo, mand? que mataran a todos los sabios de Babilonia.

L?-dessus le roi se mit en col?re, et s'irrita violemment. Il ordonna qu'on fasse p?rir tous les sages de Babylone.

For this reason the king was angry and very furious, and gave a command to destroy all the wise [men] of Babylon.

Agindua aldarrikatu zelarik, Danielen eta honen lagunen bila ere joan ziren.

Se public?, pues, el edicto de que los sabios fueran llevados a la muerte; y buscaron tambi?n a Daniel y a sus compa?eros para matarlos.

La sentence fut publi?e, les sages ?taient mis ? mort, et l'on cherchait Daniel et ses compagnons pour les faire p?rir.

So the decree went out, and they began killing the wise [men;] and they sought Daniel and his companions, to kill [them.]
