"Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, [and] psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, [good!] But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who [is] the god who will deliver you from my hands?"

Xadrak, Mexak eta Abed-Negok erantzun zioten: -Errege jauna, ez daukagu gai horretan zertan erantzunik.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

Then these men were bound in their coats, their trousers, their turbans, and their [other] garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Therefore, because the king's command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste [and] spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king."

"Look!" he answered, "I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

Nabukodonosorrek, sutan zegoen labera hurbildurik, oihu egin zuen: "Xadrak, Mexak eta Abed-Nego, goi-goiko Jainkoaren zerbitzariok, atera kanpora!" Berehala irten ziren labe barrutik.

Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace [and] spoke, saying, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come [here."] Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.

Eskualdeburu, ministrari, gobernari eta kontseilari guztiak bildu ziren gizon haiek ikusteko: suak ez zien ezer egin gorputzean, ileak ere ez zitzaizkien kiskali, jantziak ukitu gabe zeuzkaten eta ez zerien erre-usainik.

And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king's counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them.

Nebucadnetsar prit la parole et dit: B?ni soit le Dieu de Schadrac, de M?schac et d'Abed-Nego, lequel a envoy? son ange et d?livr? ses serviteurs qui ont eu confiance en lui, et qui ont viol? l'ordre du roi et livr? leurs corps plut?t que de servir et d'adorer aucun autre dieu que leur Dieu !

Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!

"Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this."

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.

"Nabucodonosor, rey, a todos los pueblos, naciones y lenguas que moran en toda la tierra: Paz os sea multiplicada.

Nebuchadnezzar the king, To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.

How great [are] His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion [is] from generation to generation.

I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace.

But at last Daniel came before me (his name [is] Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him [is] the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, [saying:]

"These [were] the visions of my head [while] on my bed: "I was looking, and behold, A tree in the midst of the earth, And its height was great.

The tree grew and became strong; Its height reached to the heavens, And it could be seen to the ends of all the earth.

Its leaves [were] lovely, Its fruit abundant, And in it [was] food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, The birds of the heavens dwelt in its branches, And all flesh was fed from it.

He cried aloud and said thus: 'Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get out from under it, And the birds from its branches.

Nevertheless leave the stump and roots in the earth, [Bound] with a band of iron and bronze, In the tender grass of the field. Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, And [let] him graze with the beasts On the grass of the earth.

Ez du giza adimenik izango, abereen sena baizik. Zazpi urtez biziko da horrela!

'This decision [is] by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.'

"Hauxe da nik, Nabukodonosor erregeak, izan dudan ametsa. Orain zuk, Beltxatzar, azaldu ametsaren esanahia. Erreinuko jakitun guztiak ez dira gai izan hori azaltzeko; zuk, ordea, egin dezakezu, jainko santuen espirituak gidatzen baitzaitu".

"Yo, el rey Nabucodonosor, he visto este sue?o. T?, pues, Beltsasar, dar?s su interpretaci?n, porque ninguno entre los sabios de mi reino lo ha podido interpretar; pero t? puedes, porque habita en ti el esp?ritu de los dioses santos"".

Voil? le songe que j'ai eu, moi, le roi Nebucadnetsar. Toi, Beltschatsar, donnes -en l'explication, puisque tous les sages de mon royaume ne peuvent me la donner; toi, tu le peux, car tu as en toi l'esprit des dieux saints.

"This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, declare its interpretation, since all the wise [men] of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you [are] able, for the Spirit of the Holy God [is] in you."

Alors Daniel, nomm? Beltschatsar, fut un moment stup?fait, et ses pens?es le troublaient. Le roi reprit et dit: Beltschatsar, que le songe et l'explication ne te troublent pas ! Et Beltschatsar r?pondit: Mon seigneur, que le songe soit pour tes ennemis, et son explication pour tes adversaires !

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for a time, and his thoughts troubled him. [So] the king spoke, and said, "Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you." Belteshazzar answered and said, "My lord, [may] the dream concern those who hate you, and its interpretation concern your enemies!

El ?rbol que viste, que crec?a y se hac?a fuerte, cuya copa llegaba hasta el cielo, que se ve?a desde todos los confines de la tierra,

L'arbre que tu as vu, qui ?tait devenu grand et fort, dont la cime s'?levait jusqu'aux cieux, et qu'on voyait de tous les points de la terre;

The tree that you saw, which grew and became strong, whose height reached to the heavens and which [could be seen] by all the earth,

Haren hostoak ederrak ziren eta sorkari guztiak asetzeko adina fruitu zuen. Basapiztiek abaro egiten zuten haren itzalean eta hegaztiek habia adarretan.

cuyo follaje era hermoso y su fruto abundante, en el que hab?a alimento para todos, debajo del cual viv?an las bestias del campo y en cuyas ramas anidaban las aves del cielo,

cet arbre, dont le feuillage ?tait beau et les fruits abondants, qui portait de la nourriture pour tous, sous lequel s'abritaient les b?tes des champs, et parmi les branches duquel les oiseaux du ciel faisaient leur demeure,

whose leaves [were] lovely and its fruit abundant, in which [was] food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and in whose branches the birds of the heaven had their home --

Errege jauna, zeu zara zuhaitz hori! Handi eta sendo egin zara zeu ere; zeruraino iritsi da zure handitasuna, lurraren ertzeraino zabaldu zure boterea.

t? mismo eres, oh rey, que creciste y te hiciste fuerte, pues creci? tu grandeza y ha llegado hasta el cielo, y tu dominio hasta los confines de la tierra.

c'est toi, ? roi, qui es devenu grand et fort, dont la grandeur s'est accrue et s'est ?lev?e jusqu'aux cieux, et dont la domination s'?tend jusqu'aux extr?mit?s de la terre.

it [is] you, O king, who have grown and become strong; for your greatness has grown and reaches to the heavens, and your dominion to the end of the earth.

Gero, aingeru zaindaria ikusi duzu zerutik jaisten; honela zioen: "Bota zuhaitza eta txikitu! Zuhaitzondoa, ostera, utzi lurrean bere erroekin eta lotu burdinazko eta brontzezko kateez zelaiko belarretan. Busti beza zeruko ihintzak eta bizi bedi horrela zazpi urtez basapiztien antzera".

En cuanto a lo que vio el rey, un vigilante y santo que descend?a del cielo y dec?a: "Cortad el ?rbol y destruidlo; mas la cepa de sus ra?ces dejar?is en la tierra, con atadura de hierro y de bronce en la hierba del campo; que lo empape el roc?o del cielo, y con las bestias del campo sea su parte hasta que pasen sobre ?l siete tiempos",

Le roi a vu l'un de ceux qui veillent et qui sont saints descendre des cieux et dire: Abattez l'arbre, et d?truisez -le; mais laissez en terre le tronc o? se trouvent les racines, et liez-le avec des cha?nes de fer et d'airain, parmi l'herbe des champs; qu'il soit tremp? de la ros?e du ciel, et que son partage soit avec les b?tes des champs, jusqu'? ce que sept temps soient pass?s sur lui.

And inasmuch as the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, 'Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump and roots in the earth, [bound] with a band of iron and bronze in the tender grass of the field; let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let him graze with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him';

this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king:

Gizartetik botako zaituzte, basapiztien artean biziko zara, belarra jango duzu idiek bezala eta ortziko ihintzak bustiko zaitu. Zazpi urtez egongo zara horrela, Goi-goikoa giza erreinu guztien jabea dela eta berak nahi duena ezartzen duela errege aitortuko duzun arte.

Que te echar?n de entre los hombres y con las bestias del campo ser? tu habitaci?n, con hierba del campo te apacentar?n como a los bueyes y con el roc?o del cielo ser?s ba?ado; y siete tiempos pasar?n sobre ti, hasta que conozcas que el Alt?simo tiene dominio en el reino de los hombres, y que lo da a quien ?l quiere.

On te chassera du milieu des hommes, tu auras ta demeure avec les b?tes des champs, et l'on te donnera comme aux boeufs de l'herbe ? manger; tu seras tremp? de la ros?e du ciel, et sept temps passeront sur toi, jusqu'? ce que tu saches que le Tr?s-Haut domine sur le r?gne des hommes et qu'il le donne ? qui il lui pla?t.

They shall drive you from men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.

Zuhaitzondoa eta erroak uzteko aginduak, berriz, hauxe esan nahi du: denen jabea zeruko Jainkoa dela aitortuko duzunean, errege izango zarela berriro.

Y en cuanto a la orden de dejar en la tierra la cepa de las ra?ces del mismo ?rbol, significa que tu reino te quedar? firme, despu?s que reconozcas que es el cielo el que gobierna.

L'ordre de laisser le tronc o? se trouvent les racines de l'arbre signifie que ton royaume te restera quand tu reconna?tras que celui qui domine est dans les cieux.

And inasmuch as they gave the command to leave the stump [and] roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules.

Beraz, errege jauna, onar ezazu nire aholkua: Utzi zeure bekatuak zuzenbide eginez, uko egin gaiztakeriari, behartsuekin errukitsu izanez. Agian, luzaroan eta zoriontsu biziko zara.

Por tanto, oh rey, acepta mi consejo: redime tus pecados con justicia, y tus iniquidades haciendo misericordias con los oprimidos, pues tal vez ser? eso una prolongaci?n de tu tranquilidad.

C'est pourquoi, ? roi, puisse mon conseil te plaire ! mets un terme ? tes p?ch?s en pratiquant la justice, et ? tes iniquit?s en usant de compassion envers les malheureux, et ton bonheur pourra se prolonger.

Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by [being] righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to [the] poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity."

Esandako guztia gertatu zitzaion Nabukodonosor erregeari.

Todo esto vino sobre el rey Nabucodonosor:

Toutes ces choses se sont accomplies sur le roi Nebucadnetsar.

All [this] came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.

Handik urtebetera, Babiloniako jauregian egurasten zebilela,

Al cabo de doce meses, paseando por el palacio real de Babilonia,

Au bout de douze mois, comme il se promenait dans le palais royal ? Babylone,

At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon.

esan zuen erregeak: "Hona hemen Babilonia handia, erregeen bizileku izateko eraikia, nire boterearen eta aintza paregabearen ezaugarri!"

habl? el rey y dijo: "?No es esta la gran Babilonia que yo edifiqu? para casa real con la fuerza de mi poder, y para gloria de mi majestad?".

le roi prit la parole et dit: N'est-ce pas ici Babylone la grande, que j 'ai b?tie, comme r?sidence royale, par la puissance de ma force et pour la gloire de ma magnificence ?

The king spoke, saying, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?"

While the word [was still] in the king's mouth, a voice fell from heaven: "King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!

Bota egingo zaituzte gizartetik! Basapiztien artean biziko zara, belarra jango duzu idiek bezala! Zazpi urtez biziko zara horrela, Goi-goikoa dela erreinu guztien jabea eta berak nahi duena ezartzen duela errege aitortuko duzun arte".

Au m?me instant la parole s'accomplit sur Nebucadnetsar. Il fut chass? du milieu des hommes, il mangea de l'herbe comme les boeufs, son corps fut tremp? de la ros?e du ciel; jusqu'? ce que ses cheveux crussent comme les plumes des aigles, et ses ongles comme ceux des oiseaux.

That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles' [feathers] and his nails like birds' [claws.]

"Al fin del tiempo, yo, Nabucodonosor, alc? mis ojos al cielo y mi raz?n me fue devuelta; bendije al Alt?simo, y alab? y glorifiqu? al que vive para siempre: ""Su dominio es sempiterno; su reino, por todas las edades.

And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom [is] from generation to generation.
