ETXEADIN: Innovation study on housing adaptation for active and independent ageing
ETXEADIN is an innovation project aimed at adapting homes to support active and independent ageing, enhancing the autonomy, safety, and quality of life of older adults. Building on the outcomes of the ETXELAGUN research project, ETXEADIN integrates architecture, technology, furniture, and smart home solutions to develop user-centred adaptive housing concepts. The project is coordinated by the HABIC Cluster and brings together a multidisciplinary team including the CAVIAR Research Group at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), RB3 Urban Integrated Innovation, and XLark. Using a Living Lab approach, it promotes co-creation with older adults, companies, and professionals to design and validate innovative solutions. The project will deliver an open catalogue of housing adaptation solutions, a co-creation methodology, and a scalable model to support healthier, more accessible, and age-friendly homes.
