The Department of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU consists of 96 Professors (69 men and 27 women) and 20 researchers (7 men and 13 women). It develops two principal activities, Research and Teaching. The latter at the School of Architecture and in the Faculty of Engineering, both in San Sebastian.

66% of teachers are full-time (44 men and 20 women) and 33% part-time (25 men and 7 women). Permanent professors with PhD Degree are 24% (17 men and 6 women).

Teaching is organized into five areas of knowledge: Architectural Graphic Expression, Architectural Constructions, Architectural Composition, Architectural Projects, and Urban and Regional Planning.

There are three research groups: CAVIAR – Quality of Life in Architecture, XX Architecture, Technical and Cultural Studies, and TICBE – Technological Innovation and Creativity for the Built Environment.
