Doctoral Programme in Biodiversity, Ecosystem Functioning and Management

Nested Applications

Presentación - Biodiversidad, Funcionamiento

The Doctoral Programme in Biodiversity, Ecosystem Functioning and Management aims to train researchers in the field of Organisms and Systems Biology; specifically, in the fields of Biodiversity, Ecology and the Environment.

It combines different branches of knowledge, so one of its main characteristics is that it is interdisciplinary.

Apart from the lines of research developed in the areas of Botany, Ecology, Zoology and Microbiology at the UPV/EHU, the programme includes other areas, such as Edaphology, Marine Biology, Animal Husbandry, Ornithology, Silviculture or Herpetology, developed by the Aranzadi Science Society, Azti and Neiker-Tecnalia Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development.

The programme has all the necessary elements to ensure the success of students’ research and scientific endeavours: internationally recognised teaching staff, adequate scientific infrastructure for the research groups, and services and resources in keeping with the standards of a prestigious university.

It also offers additional training courses and promotes research stays at foreign research centres, as well as presenting scientific results in international journals and at congresses.
