Xabier Méndez Aretxabaleta is a predoctoral researcher in the Applied Physics II department at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). After graduating from that same university he cursed a master called Atomistic and multiscale computational modelling in physics, chemistry and biochemistry. Now he is doing a PhD with the supervision of doctors Hegoi Manzano and Iñigo Etxebarria. His main research is about the use of new computational methods to predict new crystal structures and the study of transition phases.
