Degree in Basque Philology from the UPV / EHU (1988). Teacher of Basque in specialized centers, until he began to collaborate with the Grammar commission of Euskaltzaindia (1990). In 1991 he started to teach (Euskera Técnico) at the UPV / EHU, as a full professor of the EU since 1997.



Since 2002, she has been a member of the Euskera Service of the UPV / EHU, as director since 2011, with objectives such as linguistic advice for the Euskaldun university community, promoting publications and textbooks in Basque, controlling the quality of publications in Basque, organize the Linguistic Training Tests for Teaching in Basque at the UPV / EHU, teach Basque language improvement courses for teachers ...



PhD (UPV/EHU) since 2009, after defending the doctoral thesis named Elgoibarko hizkera, where a detailed characterization of Elgoibar's speech is made (phonology, nominal and verbal morphology, syntax, lexicon, dialectology…).



Along with his teaching and management work at the UPV/EHU, he has participated in various research projects (grammar, technical Basque, linguistic variation ...), and has published several books (personal or in groups) and numerous articles on Basque grammar and dialectology.
