Skills/Learning outcomes of the subjectToggle Navigation

The main goal of this subject is to provide the fundamentals, techniques and technologies used in database systems, particularly, those used in the field of biomedical engineering. Database systems based on relational models and SQL query language are studied, as well as distributed and unstructured databases. Query techniques for text-based databases, data mining and the application of machine learning techniques to biomedical environments are also addressed, as well as semantic web systems for the treatment of medical data. Finally, the databases used in public health systems and the European interoperability framework are studied.
