The main goal of this subject is to provide the fundamentals, techniques and technologies used in communication networks and services designed for biomedical environments. Reference models and basic concepts for communication protocols are studied, as well as the different types of networks depending on their technology and operational scope. Corporate and hospital networks, the most common services used in these environments and sensor networks in the framework of the Internet of Things are also analysed. Finally, the basic concepts of security in communications and cybersecurity are studied.
